Description:

The car alarm system uses Microchip’s patented Keeloq for unique code hopping of the codes transmitted by the RF remote controller.  The remote controller is a two button system.  One of the two buttons is for door open and close - toggle.  the second button has two operating modes.  when the alarm is disabled the second button may be used for opening the boot.  when the alarm is enabled, the second button may be used for  disabling the vibration sensor input.

During any condition, if  both buttons are pressed the alarm goes into panic mode where the hooter and the flasher lights are turned on until it is cancelled by the user.  The unique vibration sensor in this system is a learning type where the nuisance effect of the alarm is reduced.  If constant vibrations like traffic, people occasionally bumping etc are sensed, the alarm ignores them and decreases the sensitivity. If no vibrations are sensed, the sensitivity is increased.  Also, if an alarm is trigged due to the vibration sensing, the sensitivity is adjusted accordingly so that nuisance is reduced.

If the alarm is triggered, an ignition disable relay prevents the starting of the automobile.  Another unique feature is that the system senses the door lock close position, and if the lock is not actually closed, the sytem will retry four times to close the door lock.  In case the door lock actuator does not suceed in closing the lock, a four beep error signal is provided to the user on the hooter.  All control relays including the central locking, hooter, flasher and ignition disable relays are on board.  The board is single sided and approximately 4.5” x 3.5” in size.

Remote Control Operation:

1.  Big button [Left button] - Arm / Disarm toggle.

2.  Small button [Right button] -

In armed mode [When status LED is blinking] -  Disable vibration mode .

In disarmed mode  - Open boot

3.  BOTH buttons together - PANIC

ØTo disarm the alarm during normal operation [When alarm is not sounding] press the big button to toggle between arm and disarm.

ØTo disarm the alarm during alarm sounding mode press any button to silence the alarm.  Press the big button to disarm the alarm and open the doors.

ØIn panic mode press any button to disarm the alarm and open the doors.

Learning The Remote Control:

1.  J3 - LEARN -  is normally open.  This jumper has two functions.

Function 1 - ERASE ALL REMOTES

During power up - battery is disconnected and reconnected - if J3 is shorted with a shunt [closed] the alert LED will go ON for two seconds, go OFF for six seconds and then start flashing.  This indicates that all transmitters are erased from memory.  NOW REMOVE THE JUMPER.  The unit is now in disarmed mode.

Function 2 - LEARN NEW TRANSMITTERS

In the disarmed mode - close the jumper J3 - wait for the alert LED to come ON and go OFF.  After the LED is OFF, press any button on the transmitter.  The alert LED will flash.  This indicates that the remote control is now learnt.  REMOVE THE J3 JUMPER.  To learn another transmitter close the jumper J3 again and wait for the alert LED to go ON and OFF and then press any key on the second transmitter.  Then remove the J3 jumper.  Up to six transmitters may be learnt on this system.
